Friday's Fancies

Happy friday everyone! First off, who else is excited about the return of Downton Abbey? I can't wait till it airs on TV here, in the meantime I'll just cover my ears and avert my eyes whenever there's any mention of it.

This week has been filled with nonstop party planning in preparation for my littlest one's first birthday. She officially turns the big One next week. I know it sounds cliche, it seems just like yesterday when I was still waddling around with her baking away. I'm quite certain I broke some kind of world record for mother's height to baby's birth weight ratio but that's a story for another day, maybe. I have so much fun stuff planned for her birthday bash and I can't wait to share it with you soon. For now, a few snaps from life this week. xx

This use to happen to me when I was little so I held my breath as I watched my two year old lick away. The look of surprise and anguish on her face was too much to bear.

I love seeing my girls get along. These days they are obsessed with this doll's pram. They both take turns sitting in it. That's right, even my 25lb toddler finds a way to squeeze herself in.

These fuchsia pumps have been glued to my feet ever since I picked them up. I'm certain they match with EVERYTHING in my wardrobe. Just a warning, you may be seeing a lot of these in the near future.

It's been a while since I've seen so many people on the street and it feels good. For now I'm simply enjoying watching the world pass me by as I sit and sip my coffee.

Thank you to the traffic department for these clever little reminders. They've saved me from driving on the wrong side of the road more times than I'd care to mention.

Don't forget only two days left to enter my Love Bangle giveaway. Winner announced on Monday September 24th. More details here.

Friday's Fancies

Phew what a long week it's been! My photographer has been out of town this week hence the lack of outfit posts. Here's a look at some of the things the kids and I got up to. It's been a week of mischief (on their part), summer storms, outings to the beer garden (with the kids in tow, ha I won't even begin to explain that one) and lots and lots of cleaning. Did I mention the word cleaning?

This week I have also started my fundraising campaign to help raise money and awareness for Pin Down Bladder Cancer. It's one on those lesser known cancers that is no doubt equally as deadly. For the month of July I will be incorporating their limited edition PDBC pin into my outfits each day. You can follow me on instagram @jeneechen to stay up to date on how I style the pin. I would greatly appreciate your support and ask if you would kindly donate $1 for each day I wear the pin (there are only 12 days left so do the maths, but really any amount would be greatly appreciated). Thank you in advance. Together we can Pin Down Bladder Cancer once and for all. @PinDownBC #PDBC
                                                                Happy weekend all! xx

I do not know how many times I've mentioned Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream on here but they are seriously addictive. This week I decided to try out Wildberry Lavendar and Mango Lassi along with my favourite Salted Caramel.

Love taking time out during the day to just sit and read. Luckily for me, I have an abundant amount of magazines I still need to get through.

Ah yes, this is the stuff memories are made of. What's a childhood summer without a little indulgence.

How cute are these mugs? I picked them up at my local TJ Maxx for myself, my sister and my cousin. Guess which one is which?

My girls are Olympics ready! Their team USA outfits have arrived. For anyone following the Ralph Lauren controversy, these say they are made in Peru.

Friday's Fancies

Is anyone else as excited about the weekend as I am? It's been a long week, I spent the past few days feeling unwell and curled up on the couch. My girls surprised me by keeping to themselves and only bothering me for food or naptime. But now that the weekend is approaching I'm miraculously feeling better and ready for some lazy days under the sun. TGIF! xx

It's been two months since I first started camo meets couture. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I first started but I'm glad I did. Not only have I come across some amazing stylists and incredible women but the highlight of my blogging experience so far is the friendships forged with fellow bloggers. Thank you to everyone for visiting and leaving all your encouraging comments.

Recycled glass bottles, flowers from the supermarket, there's something about a shabby chic table setting that's so delightful in all it's unpretentiousness.

I pass this little red barn almost everyday, it's especially beautiful in the summertime surrounded by a sea of green. I make sure I slow down whenever I pass by, it's rustic simplicity gets me every time.

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but to me abandoned buildings just beckon to be explored. It's probably full of hobos and druggies but I'm always up for an adventure. Actually this one looks rather lovely with it's retro signage.

I am absolutely infatuted with Jeni's Splendid Icecream. Every time I go I make sure I try a new flavour alongside my favourite, salty caramel. For those who don't live near a brick and mortar store, great news you can even order online!

Wardrobe Diaries: Memorial Day White Affair

Sunshine, 90 degree weather, cold drinks, burgers and head to toe white is how I spent this Memorial Day weekend. We started a new tradition this year, visiting The Pharmacy in East Nashville for a lazy afternoon of dining. The nondescript white facade opens up to a charming beer garden with thick luscious grass, sprawling canopy of leaves and twinkling fairy lights strung up from tree to tree. Chargrilled burgers under afternoon sunlight followed by salty caramel icecream at Jeni's Spendid Icecream... I could get use to this. Hope everyone had an amazing and sunny long weekend.
