Wardrobe Diaries: Borrowed from the boys

I am definitely feeling the love lately. First a feature on my favourite read, Chocolate Cookies & Candies then a guest appearance on Trust your Style and now the ever lovely Kristen from C'est si bon. has asked me to guest blog for her. This lovely lady needs no introduction, even fashion's "it girl" Miss Olivia Palmero was caught visiting her blog recently. So come stop by sometime and hear me ramble on about the art of getting dressed

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the continued support. Your comments and visits mean the world to me and are what makes blogging so rewarding.

Wardrobe Diaries: Rainy Day Polka-dots

Ah... summer showers, how I love thee. You are a welcome relief to the neverending heat wave. After all, day after day of continuous sunshine and clear blue sky does get rather monotonous. Your visits fill me with joy and gets my heart racing. We're like young love reunited... okay maybe not, but you know what I mean. You fill the air with your lovely muggy scent whilst gracefully scattering the thick cloud of warm air. My kids love splashing about in your downpours. And I can look on lovingly knowing that they are warm enough to not catch a cold. You are my favourite part of summer (though don't expect the same warm welcome from me during Fall). I look forward to you all season, like the anticipation of a phone call from a long lost friend. Warm, inviting and comfortable in it's familiarity with just a hint of excitement.

Wardrobe Diaries: Not Another July 4th Post

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing July 4th inspired blog posts by now. But if you're not, here is one more just for you.

This past holiday was spent with the family at the carnival celebrations on our Army Post. For the occasion I decided to dress up as patriotic as possible without looking like a walking flag. I threw on a chunky gold chain along with some cognac details so that I could easily pass for looking nautical if I wanted to. I do love me a good nautical themed outfit. I think it's my second favorite look to the russian snow princess look that I adore to death.

This polka dot vest I picked up on sale at Anthropologie at the start of the year. As soon as I saw it, I was intrigued. If you look closely, each polka dot is made up of tiny white beads. Those who regularly read my blog know how much I love classic pieces with a unique twist. Polka dots will never go out of style, and this top was just too pretty not to add to my collection.
